What is beveled glass?
Beveled glass is usually made by taking a 1.4 inch thick (6.4 mm) piece of clear glass and creating a 1 inch bevel (angled cut) around the periphery. These beveled edges act as prisms in the sunlight, creating an interesting colour diffraction which both highlights the glasswork and provides a spectrum of colours which would ordinarily be absent in clear float (flat) glass
Beveled glass can been used in combination with clear and or coloured textured glass to create truly stunning decorative designs. Textured glass is typically 1/8" thick and has a distinct visible texture. The contrast between this and the beveled glass can produce dramatic visual effects

A beautiful and dynamic addition to your home, beveled glass fittings can vary from simple three or four piece designs, often used in top lights (also referred to as transoms) of windows and conservatories, to more complex combinations of many pieces, suitable for larger panels such as in doors and side screens (commonly referred to in the industry as sidelights)
